2. The type of business or organisation.
Registering a domain name with a certain extension says to your visitor what your business may be about, e.g. a .org typically says that you might be a non-profit group or trade association. A .biz is for credible resource Web sites and signifies a "resource" web site. It works the same way for registering a .com.au meaning your business is likely located in Australia or a .nz meaning you may be in New Zealand.

3. The number of domains to register?
It's a difficult situation for a business to decide on a domain name if they plan on marketing their website to numerous countries or types of businesses. To combat this it would be worth your while buying each domain. Choose one domain as the main one to be indexed by the search engines and do a 301 redirect for the other domains to the main domain. This means the main domain will still receive the SEO benefits of all your redirected domains but not index the same site on the search engines causing duplicate content problems.
